The 21st Annual James Rives Memorial Golf Tournament will be held July 28th, 2016. Back by popular demand, this year’s golf tournament will be at Sewell’s Point Golf Course, Norfolk, VA. For two decades, this event has played a major role in raising scholarship funds for ODU civil and environmental engineering students. This annual golf outing memorializes James “Jimmy” Rives, P.E., an eminent civil engineer from southeastern Virginia, a charter member of the CEEVC and a member of the Hardy Cross Hall of Fame.
Summer Council Meeting
The council met on Friday, June 16, 2017 and discussed the events planned for the upcoming year, including a summary of the Spring 2017 Seminar, the upcoming Fall Federal Seminar, update on the Golf Tournament, and get an update on the Civil Department from Dr. Ben Stuart.
Jessica Hou was honored at the meeting for serving the past two years as Chair of the Council. Jan Harris presented her with a plaque for her dedication and leadership the past two years. Jessica will be rolling in the Past Chair position and Bruce Husselbee will be rotating into the Chair position for the upcoming year.
The CEEVC Council would like to welcome our new members!(Pictured left to right) Todd Smith of CDM Smith, Troy McPherson with Hazen and Sawyer, Christiene Mitchell with HRSD, and Jason Kern with HDR.
Welcome to the website of CEEVC, Inc.! Thank you for your interest, and to all those who have supported our organization over the years. It is truly an honor to chair this Visiting Council of awesome volunteers, to pay back those who have gone before me for their support of me and many like me. I struggled to pay for my education at ODU and without the Boone Scholarship awarded to me by CEEVC, I might be in a different place. I know firsthand the impact a group of dedicated professional practitioners can have on the next generation of civil and environmental engineers. Our mission is to extend the influence and effectiveness of ODU’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and maintain a strong and constant liaison with leaders of the consulting, industrial, and government communities. Please get to know us, our events and activities, and our scholarship awardees through this website, and always feel free to contact me with any questions you may have at email@example.com.
